SUMMARY: This position will provide exposure to design, implementation, administration, and troubleshooting of public cloud-based resources particularly within Amazon Web Services (AWS). The candidate will interact with internal business and technical teams to outline and execute on requirements delivering secure, functional and scalable cloud solutions. Other duties would include documentation of activities via the support center call-tracking tool, revision of specific documentation, knowledge repositories, and correspondences. Analyze and resolve errors in a timely and accurate fashion. Provide status reports where required. Provide on-call support and problem resolution for public cloud services. Project management skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Minimum 2 year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other technical area. Related experience may be acceptable.

Experience: 1 year minimum IT experience is preferred. 0-4 years systems administrator background; 0-4 years application development background; 0-2 years hands on design and implementation using AWS or another cloud provider.

Core Responsibilities: Work with internal stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements. Provide cloud solution and strategy recommendations to address needs. Public cloud administration across multiple providers (AWS, Azure, & GCP). Develop infrastructure code and templates to automate provisioning and ensure consistency and efficiency. Identify improvements in cloud resource management to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Develop policies, procedures, and guidelines to continually improve operational effectiveness of cloud services. Be an evangelist for cloud adoption within the organization and stay up-to-date on cloud computing services and trends.

Role Specific Skills: Ability to resolve complex issues quickly using solid analytical skills. Ability to produce clear, business-friendly documentation of ideas, requirements, architecture, and problems. Knowledge of AWS services, like: EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, Elasticache, ECS, and EMR. Scripting knowledge using Python and/or Bash. Familiarity of source control systems like Git and continuous integration tools.

Preferred Skills: Large distributed systems design, automation, migration, and deployment. Cloud solution architecture and design. Use of tools like AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform to provide infrastructure immutability and provisioning automation. Linux administration and shell scripting. Container and orchestration tools such as Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.

Travel: Some travel may be required. Amount of travel will be determined by individual project requirements.
