Summary: This position is responsible for the facilitation of all activities necessary to achieve sales and profit objectives of assigned new categories, segments and platforms as aligned with strategic plan to ensure growth in volume andprofit for Tyson Foods. This includes developing new product concepts and supervising prototype development, managing all aspects of the product(s) which includes inventory, packaging, financial, and distribution areas, and analyzing weeklysales information in regards to velocity, cost, and profitability.
Responsibilities: Other responsibilities include: developing packaging graphics for new products (as needed), demand generation, product reformulations, and re-introductions; partnering with Consumer and Shopping Insights, Shopper Marketing and then BU to build an annual marketing plan, where relevant. Duties include budget management, financial reviews and management presentations; coordinating various initiatives with Purchasing, QA, R&D, Sales, etc. Other duties include: creatively identify opportunity areas for growth by effectively using consumption data, market research and competitive intelligence; training and directing internal and external personnel; working hand-in-hand with the sales organization to ensure corporate objectives are met and that our strategies and programs are effectively implemented; assisting customers in solving problems and/or answering complaints;monitoring production and inventory levels of key items to ensure adequate amounts are available to meet customer needs; performing other responsibilities as the need arises.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. MBA preferred.
Experience: 6 plus years of related brand marketing, product marketing or marketing innovation experience, preferably in the CPG or foodservice industry
Computer Skills: Very proficient computer and internet skills.
Communication Skills: Highly skilled communicator in both verbal and written communication
Special Skills: Proven ability to lead teams and work well cross functionally
Supervisory: No current direct reports, but potential as team expands
Travel: Ranges from 4 to 12 trips per year
