Career Description

This position is responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Duties will include loading trucks with stacked baskets of placement chicks and driving them to designated farm. At farm, unload baskets. Driver may also be required to pick up racks of eggs from breeder farms and deliver back to hatchery.


Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid class A CDL and pass Tyson Foods, Inc. criteria for CMV drivers. Must have at least 1 year of driving experience in like vehicle. Must be willing and able to operate a Moffett forklift or possess ability to obtain proper license to operate for loading and unloading purposes. Must be willing to work in temperatures that vary from extreme hot to cold. Must be willing and able to lift (up to 50 lbs.), push, pull, pinch, grasp, bend, climb, and stoop. Must have 6 months continuous work history with 1 employer within last 24 months. Must not have terminated from any Tyson facility acquisition within past 6 months. Applicants discharged for Job Abandonment, Unsatisfactory Probationary Period, Rules of Conduct, Walked Off Job, Attendance, and Insubordination will not be considered. Applicants from Marshall, DeKalb, Etowah, Blount, Cullman, and Calhoun counties in AL will be considered.
