SUMMARY: Responsibilities include managing daily feed mill inventories of soybean meal, managing daily railroad pipelines through tracing and through coordination with suppliers and logistics, preparing weekly open and pending report and updating report, creation and closing of physical purchase contracts in system of record, negotiating basis contracts with suppliers under the guidance of the Sr. Soymeal Buyer, creating weekly shipping instructions, creating weekly reporting on logistics and on soy meal quality, entering pricing for physical purchase contracts.
In addition, this position will work to develop, maintain and enhance relationships with brokers, suppliers and industry associations and look to forward Tyson's best interests in its purchasing of a key feed ingredient. This position will report directly to the Sr. Soymeal Buyer.

Education: Knowledge and techniques normally acquired through four years of college leading to a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Preference given to areas of study in Business, Finance, Agriculture Sciences, Economics or Ag Related studies.

Experience: 1+ years' experience in the food industry or agriculture related field required. Preference given to experience in purchasing or trading experience.

Computer Skills: Strong computer skills required; basic knowledge of programs such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Word; expertise with Access and Excel a must. Knowledge of purchasing programs such as SAP, Endur, or other ERP software is a plus.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Special Skills: Working with numbers, problem solving, ability to prioritize and multi-task and analytical skills.

Supervisory: None.

Travel: Limited travel required.
