SUMMARY:
This position advises Ahold/Delhaize banners (Food Lion, Hannaford, Giant Carlisle, Giant Landover, Stop n Shop) and the Tyson sales team on all category-centric and shopper-centric needs that are required to drive sales volume, distribution, and advancing customer relations.

The role will provide category and shopper insights for Ahold/Delhaize by developing actionable recommendations to drive category/brand growth. These insights will create and deliver solutions that satisfy both Tyson and Ahold/Delhaize strategies and objectives. It involves a high level of interaction with both Tyson and Ahold/Delhaize management. Utilizes, leverages and analyzes various data sources including retailer shopper loyalty card data, retailer POS, syndicated data sources (IRI, Nielsen, EYC, Perishables Group, Market Track/Feature Vision) and other proprietary Tyson Foods Category Leadership research. This position will have people management responsibility with 1 category analyst reporting to it.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborates with retailer in support of consumer & shopper insight application, utilizing market and competitive trends.
  • Leverages key shopper trends and insights relevant to the category.
  • Analyzes category, competitive and market trends (syndicated data).
  • Develops and drives assortment and space optimization at the retailer
  • Provides on-going post promotional analysis for retailer.
  • Develops Category Business Plans with internal Sales team.
  • Develops and presents Customer Category Reviews/Business Reviews, Top-to-Top presentations and New Item presentations (Core and Innovation), with the support of various team members.
  • Develops insight-based recommendations based on analysis of space management (e.g., assortment), sales, distribution, pricing and promotion to help drive consistent sales recommendations.
  • Provides ongoing reporting and scorecarding to both retailer and Sales teams.
  • Manage and develop professional direct report.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: BA degree in related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Category Management, Sales, and/or Consumer Insights. Food industry experience a plus. Experience managing a team or direct reports a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Experience analyzing data & providing actionable insights utilizing retailer data sources, as well as advanced-level syndicated data (IRI/Nielsen) usage and shopper card data(EYC); excellent planning and project management skills; strong ability to leverage creative thinking.
  • Travel: 20%
