Career Description

This is a driver position responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor trailer combinations short and long distances, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Tasks

Follow Company policies and DOT rules and regulations. Maintain driving log and conduct pre and post inspection of equipment. Drop, hook, spot, and interchange equipment as needed. Report all accidents. Climb in out of truck. Drive, shift gears, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. Work in inclement weather.


Requirements

Must have valid Class A CDL and be at least 21 years old. Must have 1 year verifiable experience in type vehicle operated--top heavy load experience preferred. Must obtain medical card. Must not have DUI DWI conviction in past 8 years in personal vehicle and never in CMV. Must not have DOT Drug Alcohol Violation within past 3 years. Must pass road test. Must pass mandatory DOT drug tests. Must meet all Tyson Fleet Safety DOT requirements. Must not have more than 6 attendance points. Must not have received Counseling Statement Written Warning within past 6 months or Written Warning Suspension within past 12 months. Probationary Team Members only considered if no other more senior qualified Team Member applies for position. Internal Location Applicants considered first. Successful applicants may not apply for another position for 6 months unless applying for promotion to higher premium paid position.
