Career Description

Tyson Foods, Inc in Green Bay was founded in 1981 to serve local and regional frozen pizza manufacturers from its base of operations in northeastern Wisconsin. The plant operates two bakeries in Green Bay with more than 100,000 square feet of production space and 420 team members. Also, the plant annually produces more than 200 million crusts in both par-baked and self-rising varieties.

SUMMARY: General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production. Operate all assigned electrical and mechanical equipment for the purpose of troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance also conducts tests of installed/repaired equipment/machinery and makes final adjustments. Under supervision, installs, maintains repairs and/or rebuilds complicated machines and plant equipment. Identifies all parts, supplies, and services required to maintain equipment in assigned area and competes work orders in a timely manner meeting or exceeding pre- established deadlines to reduce downtime and meet production goals. Position requires lifting, reaching, rotating, walking, climbing, bending and squatting. Performs maintenance and understands 110, 220, 480 volt single phase, three phases, PLC ladder logic, controls, motor circuits and drive systems. Installs, maintains, dissembles, refits, repairs, and/or rebuilds electrical equipment and machines including automatic and process controls, switch boards, HMI, control center and panels, relays, circuit breakers electronic control, printers, scales and alarm systems. Uses a PC (laptop) to connect to, communicate with and utilize RS-Logix software to troubleshoot an Allen Bradley SLC/PLC/Control Logix processing systems(s). Work environment is hot, wet, dusty and noisy. Be able to use basic hand and power tools to include: drills, grinders, drill press, band saws, multi-meter and other tools.

REQUIREMENTS: Plant Maintenance positions require one year of experience in industrial electrical maintenance, or the equivalent certification from a technical school. Applicants who have worked for Tyson more than once will not be considered. Minimum 6 month waiting period from last Tyson employment. Applicants who were terminated from Tyson for the following reasons will not be considered: misconduct, violation of drug policy, insubordination. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Minimum of High School or GED diploma with certification of 1 year experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Basic computer skills.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
