Career Description

This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for a variety of technical tasks involved in the maintenance and repair of electrical equipment and electrical components on production machinery. This position could work in any department of the Processing facility. Willingness to stand, walk, bend, stretch, turn, climb ladders, push, pull, and reach in all areas. Lifting 40+ in many areas. Must be able to tolerate climates ranging from very cold to very hot and form very wet to very dry. Must have general industrial maintenance and electrical experience. Applicants will be considered for any shift such as day, evening, or late night. Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout Tagout). Must be able to comply with OSHA standards. Must be able to read manufacturing manuals for repair purposes, read work orders and enter information on a computer SAP system which include but not limited to entering issues pertaining to the job and information that describes action taken to fix equipment. The maintenance electrician diagnoses and trouble-shoot electrical problems related to processing equipment. Disassembles machines and repair or replace broken parts. Repairs or replace electrical motors and controls. D


Must have prior industrial maintenance electrical experience or completed formal schooling in the maintenance electrical field in a recognized accredited college. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must be willing to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must be willing to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. Willingness to lift 70 lbs. on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must be willing to complete all required training for the job. Must be at least 18 years old. Preferably 3-5 years experience in the electrical field. Must be able to repair electrical systems.
