Career Description

SUMMARY: This position is a part of the Electrical Engineering group. Responsibilities for this position include: developing initial project electrical concepts and preliminary electrical designs: developing electrical estimates and project electrical schedules: preform detailed electrical design: develop electrical equipment specifications: analyze electrical equipment submittals and recommend the candidates for successful vendor: develop detailed electrical installation bid packages: analyze electrical installation bids and recommend the candidates for successful bidder: prepare equipment and installation requisitions based on the bids for order generation by Corporate purchasing: provide electrical projectmanagement services to ensure the installation meets the project specifications: provide electrical project start-up assistance to ensure the installation is operating as designed and specified: assist in providing engineering review of insurance recommendations for electrical issues: maintain a good working knowledge of the National Electrical Code: applicable state and local codes, and accepted electrical engineering practices: assist in development of Tyson specificationsand standard guidelines for design implementation of electrical systems.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience; desire to obtain registration (by examination) as a Professional Engineer.

Experience: 3+ years' applicable engineering experience or completion of an Engineering internship or Coop, preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs, spreadsheet, database and scheduling programs. Microsoft exposure preferred.

Specific Skills: Capable of working on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring limited supervision; demonstrated ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget; good knowledge of a variety of the Electrical Engineering disciplines concepts, practices, and procedures.

Supervisory: None

Travel: Frequent travel is involved up to 50%.
