Career Description

This position is responsible for operating machinery and maintaining product flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


The essential function of the formulator is to pre-grind raw materials in accordance with specifications. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Blend ground raw materials, based on formulation, record lot numbers. Determines the proper raw materials used in a given product for each production line, takes Anyl Rays on raw materials, grinds chops raw materials to specifications, records material information, labels pre-grind products, notifies group leader of quality related problems, operates machinery observing all safety rules and regulations, maintains clean work area, complies with TYSON USDA sanitation and safety rules and regulations, operates pallet jack, performs other duties as required or assigned.


Must be able to understand and give verbal and written instruction, possess sufficient mathematical skill to perform arithmetic functions such as addition and multiplication using whole numbers, decimals and fractions, knowledge of weights and measures, sufficient analytical ability to interpret and use data, check reports, forms, records, and comparable record keeping devices and make decisions from several alternatives sufficient physical ability to vertically move materials weighing up to 90 lbs. from 18 to 34' a distance of up to 2' constantly, horizontally move same materials exerting push forces of up to 20 lbs. constantly, vertically move pallets weighing up to 40 lbs. from 18 to 52' and horizontally move same a distance of 10' without mechanical assistance occasionally, climb stairs, walk up to 1 mile per shift, tolerate heights of 25' stand throughout shift, sufficient near, far and depth perception vision to perform the operations, work in cold environment, and possess a valid certified pallet jack operator license Must have 3 consecutive months work history within the past 12 months.
