Career Description

This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Tasks

Unstack boxes and load production lines. Chick pulling duties include, but are not limited to pulling 6 stacks with a minimum of 15 trays in a stack out of assigned machines daily, pushing and pulling up to 300 plus pounds on a buggy of chicks and 700 plus pounds on a buggy of eggs. Unload storage line of stacks of baby chickens 10 boxes high 100 birds per box and transfer to pallet with overall height in excess of 6ft. Maintain order of flock keep up with flock changes and floor counts. Operate and maintain machines, equipment and environment for correct operation process. Maintain clean and safe work environment. Clean up equipment after production by sweeping, washing floors, drains, baskets, buggies with high pressure hoses and water hoses and use of disinfectant. Load trucks as needed and or chick delivery helper. Work in a hot, cold, and or wet conditions. Work in a dusty environment with high a concentration of allergens and stand on hard floors for 8 hours a day. Must be able to lift on a frequent basis no greater than 40 lbs. Lift up to 40 lbs. above shoulder level. Must be able to climb a ladder to work on elevated surfaces. Must be able to obtain powered industrial truck certification (PIT).


Requirements

Work schedule Flexible days and hours Monday-Saturday up to 40 hrs week. Must not own, possess, or otherwise maintain any domestic, wild or exotic fowl to be considered. Applicants who were employed by Tyson Foods, Inc. will not be considered until one (1) year after termination of their employment with Tyson Foods, Inc. Applicants with five (5) or more terms of employment with Tyson since October 1, 1999 will not be considered. Applicants who were terminated from Tyson Foods for Gross Misconduct are not eligible for rehire at any time. Applicants terminated from Tyson Foods for a Core Safety Mandate are not eligible for rehire for a period of two years from the date of the violation.
