This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all equipment and company assets while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


The person performing these duties maintain the steam boilers in operating order. Position involves rebuilding the steam boiler yearly, maintain records and documents. Willingness to stand, walk, bend, stretch, turn, climb ladders, push, pull, and reach in all areas. Lifting 40+ in many areas. Must be able to tolerate working in extremely hot areas. Must have general industrial maintenance experience and steam boiler experience. In particular, maintenance boiler mechanic needs to have a basic understanding of all mechanical functions, i.e plumbing. Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout Tagout). Must be able to comply with OSHA standards. Must be able to read manufacturing manuals for repair purposes, read work orders and enter information on a computer SAP system which include but not limited to entering issues pertaining to the job and information that describes action taken to fix equipment.


Must have prior industrial maintenance boiler room operator experience or successful completion of formal schooling in plumbing. General Maintenance, boiler operators are responsible for keeping the steam boilers running to maintain continuous production. Preventative maintenance is done on all boilers. Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system. Must be willing to read, write, and communicate effectively. Must be willing to use math as needed to make work related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc. Willing to stand, walk, bend, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach. Team Members who hold these positions must be willing to work in either cold, damp or hot, humid environments and these areas may have slippery walking surfaces. Must be willing to lift 50 lbs. on a daily basis and be willing to work on your feet for a period of 12 hours. Must have the ability to read and understand computerized maintenance training.
