Career Description

This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process and insuring proper ingredients supplies are being used on the line. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Tasks

Ability to run a multitude of machines of varying difficulty. Can operate and set up machines in more than one area of the plant. Ensures all production equipment is prepared on-time for production. Responsible for ensuring assigned equipment is set-up and running according to the production schedule including labels and safety devices. Responsible for making sure machines are in sanitary condition. Performs basic maintenance on machines. Responsible for adjusting V-mag placement on the in feed, head assembly, cheese placement. Teams with Machine Operators to control cheese weights. Responsible for charting cheese weights throughout the shift and communicating variances. Troubleshoots equipment problems and contacts Maintenance Mechanic if necessary. Interacts with Supervisors and Line Coaches to determine equipment set-up and operation. Provides assistance to lower level set-up staff. May train new or recently promoted associates. Works with Quality Assurance Department to understand, recognize and rectify quality issues. Ensures the safety of him herself and others. Must be mechanically inclined. Must be able to communicate ideas and explain procedures clearly to others. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required. At least six (6) months of work experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing facility.
