Career Description

This position is responsible for entry level non-skilled general labor while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


Applicants will be considered for any general labor type openings in any department to include but is not limited to 1st and 2nd Processing, 1st and 2nd Packaging, 1st and 2nd shift Shipping and Receiving and 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift Smokehouse. Prolonged frequent Standing, walking, bending, squatting, stretching, climbing, pushing, pulling and reaching are required in all areas. Lifting up to 65 lbs (Only palletizing jobs), able to stand 8-10 hours on hard floors and repetitive motions is required in many areas (weight depends on area). These positions work in a cold, damp or hot and humid environment and these areas have slippery walking surfaces.


Rehire Criteria A. Former Team Members must have waited six months (6) months from date of termination to be considered for record review. B. Former Team Members cannot have 3 or more termination dates C. Must have completed 90 days (3 months) of continuous service with Tyson (Most recent record). D. Former Team Members with 2 or more written warnings (any reason) Within the last 12 months of employment will not be considered E. Former Team Members with 1 or more written warnings + suspension (any reason) within the last 12 months of employment will not be considered F. PSSI, VVS Canteen or any other contracted individual will have a waiting period of a minimum of 45 days prior to an application being considered for Tyson Ham plant.
