SUMMARY:

Critical role building the long-term (organic and inorganic) growth strategy for Tyson Foods' $8B Prepared Foods segment, and supporting priority strategic initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Prepared Foods Strategy, and working closely with the Head of Prepared Foods Strategy and VP of Prepared Foodservice Strategy, this role has significant exposure to Prepared Foods' leadership as we work together to shape the future of food in a dynamic environment in which the pace of change is accelerating. Will be part of a small, agile, influential team tasked with a variety of topics daily.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate on annual development of the strategic plan across Business Units, including but not limited to outlining key trends impacting Prepared Foods and marrying these with our sources of competitive advantage to identify priority opportunities (e.g., white space investment)
  • Identify priority growth and cost initiatives and lead/support project teams against them across Retail & Foodservice
  • Analyze the competitive environment (e.g., peer companies' earnings, key business metrics, valuation levels and analyst views) and internal performance to identify business implications and make recommendations
  • Collaborate on Prepared Foods M&A strategy development and execution, including pipeline identification & profiling, valuation, evaluation, diligence, and deal execution, in partnership with Corporate Strategy and Corporate Finance.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Education: Undergraduate degree from top-tier school.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a top-tier management consulting firm preferred, will also consider: similar corporate strategy or investment banking experience.
  • Computer Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Exemplary oral and written communication skills and the ability to support leadership with the presentation of business cases and/or reports.
  • Special Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills supported by strong critical thinking skills. Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills to facilitate cross functional teams and cultivate trust and confidence of senior management. Experience in interpreting and translating complex material into information meaningful to team members and/or business leaders. Comfortable in ambiguous and rapidly evolving situations. Excellent project management skills, including project structuring and managing multiple work streams independently.
