Career Description


The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a hatchery team to provide quality products by meeting customer expectations and to achieve financial and business objectives. Essential functions of this position are: provide quality products to our customers globally; achieve production and financial objectives; develop and maintain effective communication with customers, shared services, and other hatcheries; achieve HR and Safety objectives that support hatchery facilities; develop, evaluate and implement new processes and technology; maintain compliance with domestic and international entities regulating Cobb business activities; and have and maintain qualified team members.


Experience: College degree (or equivalent experience) with 6+ years of progressive experience in field of expertise, or advanced degree (if required) with 4+ years of progressive experience

Accountability/Role: Manager that leads a department, area, brand, or team. Responsible for executing work through others. Primary focus on managing the budget and implementing operational change. Requires proficiency in people leadership and problem solving. Alternatively, may include seasoned professionals with extensive experience in a field of study that are accountable for enterprise wide projects and/or processes, i.e. - project leader within a technical function.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals using available computer programs.

Travel: Four (4) plus domestic trips per year.

Supervisory: A team of two (2+) direct salaried positions, one (1) direct management support position and approximately 20+ hourly team members.

Biosecurity: The jobsite is a biosecurity environment which requires showering before entering the facility and could require multiple showers during the work day. Appropriate clothing and footwear is provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds). The Company Animal Welfare Policy must be followed at all times. Must be willing to follow the guidelines in the Biosecurity Standards.

Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk or hear. The team member must occasionally lift and/ or move up to 25 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment Required: Team Member is expected to follow the required safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
