Career Description

This position is responsible for all functional areas of a poultry processing plant including the efficient operation of two production shifts, maintenance, personnel, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality and process improvement. Other responsibilities include motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance the skill level of their employees, resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods, and reviewingcost and performance data to help determine areas that need improvement. This position also requires compiling a monthly expense and efficiency report, promoting and explaining the TQM philosophy to employees, and obtaining approval and executing all capital improvements for plants. Responsible for facilitating the Pipeline Management Program (PMP) and supporting the Retention Program. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality and legality. Other duties include initiating discussion and implementation of improvement in all phases of production, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and correcting problems, and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.


Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Experience: Progressive 8+ years experience. Applicable Experience in Poultry Industry Preferred.

Computer Skills: This job requires General knowledge of computer programs used in the operation of the production plant like Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, outlook), prefer working knowledge of SAP and Perstime.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Travel: 6 to 11 trips per year.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for managing several groups of personnel who perform diverse tasks and activities in more than one department.

Location Specific: Tray Pack experience is essential to fulfilling this position. Applicant must be willing and able to work holidays and weekends.
