SUMMARY: This position will work collaboratively in a cross-discipline technical team of engineers and programmers in the development and implementation of automation control systems for all Tyson Fresh Meats facilities. The candidate will be skilled in manufacturing automation design, integration, trouble shooting, engineering, programming and consulting. Other requirements include: accomplish systems analysis task within multiple projects or business units, have intermediate knowledge of controls systems design. Be able to complete complex coding requirements within project time constraints, and be willing to support installed control systems for emergency purposes outside of normal business hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience.

Experience: 2 years of Programming experience with an ability to program PLC, HMI and SCADA controls systems; a background in reading electrical control schematics; developing sequence of operations and converting into automation code; capable of making significant enhancement, troubleshooting and testing for existing applications preferred.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Computer Skills: Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft Office and Visio, PLC and HMI. Programming Languages: Proficient in one or more languages including Unity, ProWORX32, iFix and Vijeo Designer for the Schneider Electric PLC platforms.

Specific Skills: Programming and design skills in PLC, HMI and SCADA systems, mentoring and leadership skills, understanding of multiple business areas and knowledge in the ANSI/ISA standards. Strong troubleshooting skills in the above areas and willingness to support facilities 24/7.

Supervisory: May direct team members in project deliverables.

Travel: 10-12 trips per year. Engineer must be willing to travel to job sites for startup of control systems.
