Career Description

A strategic role that will require leading the establishment of goals within BUs; creating methods and metrics; managing through ambiguity; aligning teams and business leaders with targets and goals. The role identifies opportunities to help the business achieve specific GHG reduction goals related to energy and support in related sustainability focus areas where needed; work closely with other functions including procurement, indirect procurement, environmental services, operations, safety, and government relations to identify opportunities to apply solutions that achieve business results and establish sustainability goals; measured against enabling energy projects across the BUs that are approved and achieve their stated outcomes financially along with measurable energy performance outcomes (e.g., electricity, fuel, solar, and wind); engaged in defining sources and projects for purchasing and producing renewable energy; performs assessments of past, present and future energy data and participates in target setting and recommendations for energy management in collaboration with other leaders; well versed in proper business and technical acumen to build business and technical cases for investment in technology, goods and services supporting our targets; will work across the enterprise within all business units and will prepare materials for briefings at all levels of the business; possess the organizational savvy to build relationships and business cases for buy-in of large long-term projects in an environment of continual improvement; strong networking skills to foster key relationships across the organization and externally; strong business case management skills for influencing, project management and reporting; engage with all levels of the business and have a strong desire to seek answers through knowledge and from people with expertise; strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate strategy and direction.

Education: Bachelor's degree required; business, accounting, environmental science, or engineering degree preferred
Experience: At least 10 years of experience in the food, agriculture, or energy industry; preferred discipline in energy management, procurement/purchasing, or energy
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication
Computer Skills: Advanced skills using Microsoft Office products; able to generate graphs, presentations and charts
Special Skills: Energy assessments and sustainable energy supply knowledge experience a plus
Travel: Up to 25%
