This position is responsible for operating machinery to ensure the continuous flow of product thru the production process. Responsible for monitoring and adjusting machine settings as needed and notifying supervisor if machines should require maintenance while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.


The essential job functions of a Slice Machine Operator (Pepperoni) are to operate and monitor a single stick automatic peeling and slicing line. Team Member will occasionally lift, reach, push, pull and stand during entire shift. Will be working in cold temperatures. DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Set up and or tear down automatic casing peelers and slicers, slice pepperoni sticks one at a time to meet customer specs, sharpen blade as needed, work with QA on consistency and quality of product, gather slice count and other FSQA data as required by the product specification and input into Plantview, change blades as needed. Will operate the automatic metal detector and is responsible for reworking all metal rejected sticks offline. Utilize protective equipment while exposed to the machine blade. Utilizes proper lifting techniques to avoid injury to themselves and others, follows Tyson SAFETY FSQA USDA rules and procedures, maintains good housekeeping, wears appropriate personal protective equipment, report injuries and unsafe conditions, and performs other duties as required or assigned.


Must be able to follow verbal and written English instructions, perform routine repetitive bending and lifting, lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must have 3 consecutive months work history within the past 12 months.
