SUMMARY: This position is responsible for implementing system wide process improvements and facilitation of any training associated with those improvements. Responsibilities include: educating both contract sow producer base as well as company operated sow farm management Team Members; serve as subject matter expert in areas of technology and/or production management practices; directing activities including raining, identifying potential issues, communicating and making recommendations for improvements regarding all aspects of sow production to include the Pork Quality Assurance standards developed by the National Pork Board. Other duties include working on projects relating to decreasing cost and/or increasing quality and/or efficiencies; introducing new contract sow producers to industry standard production practices and assisting new sow producers in more thorough comprehension of contractual obligations while acting as a liaison between producers and company representatives; training in order to establish process improvement at all levels of live swine production (contract sow producers and company operated farm management Team Members) which will include following up on projects to ensure accurate and sustained execution; conducting data analysis and planning activities with production management in order to create innovative approaches to solving problems; educating sow producers to industry standard on techniques and/or technology advancements that warrant a change in current production procedures. REQUIREMENTS: Education: Broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field; normally acquired through four years of college resulting ina Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an academic field directly related an essential to the position. Experience: 5+ years' experience in all aspects of sow production. Computer Skills: Standard computer skills. Communication Skills: Strong public speaking skills; excellent verbal and written skills. Special Skills: Responsible for identifying system opportunities, trouble shooting and technique advice to all levels of sow production; thorough comprehensive of genetic supplier recommendations to maximize productivity of animals; will be responsible for implementation of system wide initiatives across 40 different sow locations. Supervisory: Will supervise a group of personnel who perform similar and or interrelated tasks and activities. Travel: 6-11 domestic trips per year.
