SUMMARY Senior Production Manager: This position is responsible to meet production requirements for quality products by meeting federal co mpliance regulations. The position ensures production adherence is met and is responsible for makingsure that all production completed is on time. This position also leads and directs production supervisors and support personnel. This position reports to the Assistant Plant Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES Coach, motivate, train and effectivelymanage the performance of production supervisors and support personnel. Coordinate with engineering, maintenance or others as appropriate to solve production/quality/personnel related problems. Ability to achieve aggressive safety, quality, and cost performance objectives. Ensure adherence to proper safety and sanitation regulations and policies/procedures. Actively identify and initiate process improvements to positively impact financial viability, service and product quality and customer satisfaction of the facility. Responsible for managing employees by following Union contact. Coach employees and hold accountable for following company policies. Insure compliance with USDA, EPA, OSHA, and HACCP regulations.Responsible for managing department expenses. Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system QUALIFICATIONS Four-year college degree in Food Science, Business or a related field strongly preferred. 5 years of leadershipand coaching with a proven track record of success in motivating others. Five years of production supervisory experience, preferably in the food industry. Lean manufacturing experience preferred. Strong interpersonal, written and organizational skills, required. Strong planning and problem solving skills essential. Ability to work weekends as scheduled as required. OTHER POSITION SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Must be able to endure (non-weather related) wet and cold environment (35 degrees). Must be able to endure (non-weather related) hot and humid environment (100 degrees). Must be able to climb stairs, occasionally. Must be able to stand, stoop and walk, constantly. Must be able to sit sustained periods of time, frequently. Must be able to wear protected clothing -hard hat, glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, frequently. Must have ability to carry lightly up to 15lbs., occasionally. Must be able to balance or maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces. Must be able to withstand exposure to sanitation, processing, and ingredient chemicals and potential exposure biological hazards experienced with raw meat products.
